Data Encryption used in AWARD®

Data Encryption used in AWARD®

The use of HTTPS/TLS1.2 minimum ensures that all data is encrypted whilst in transit.

Data ‘at rest’ – i.e.. whilst stored on the live AWARD servers:

  • Data is encrypted at rest with AES 256-bit disk encryption.
  • If data is downloaded on to a local machine, it becomes unencrypted.
  • All AWARD backups are 256-bit encrypted.

Access to the AWARD servers are restricted to a limited and identified group of operators, all of whom have UK Government SC level clearance as a minimum.
