Create Questions from Evidence Items

You can use this function if you wish to create Questions in AWARD that have the same name as the Evidence Items. It will also automatically create the required mappings.

  1. From the AWARD 6 Home Page, click the appropriate Project. The Project Home Page will be displayed.
  2. Click the Setup option on the toolbar.
  3. Click Questions in the left-hand navigator. The Questions page is displayed.
  4. Click View Evidence Items. The Question hierarchy will be displayed with any mapped Evidence items.
  5. Click Manage Evidence Items. The Evidence Items page is displayed.
  6. Select the Evidence Items to be created as Questions.
  7. Click Create Questions from Evidence Items. The Create Questions from Evidence Items page will be displayed, listing all the selected Evidence Items in the Name column. Any Evidence Items that already have mappings to AWARD Questions are shown in the Mappings column.
  8. Select the type of structure for the AWARD Questions which will be created. To create section headings based upon the hierarchy in the eSourcing system, select the eSourcing option. To select a structure where no section headings will be created, that is, all selected Questions will be placed at the same level under one parent Question, select Flat.
  9. Click Next. The list of AWARD Questions will be displayed; if there are any existing Answers on those Questions this will be indicated under the Answers column.
  10. Select the Question under which the selected Evidence Items are to be created as Questions. You cannot create the Question under a tip Question for which Answers exist, or which have References assigned. If you are in a Lots Project, you cannot select the Overall Question. (If you selected a flat structure, on the next page you will get the option to create a new Question level underneath the currently selected Question.)
  11. Click Next. You now need to specify whether you wish each Evidence Item to be created as an individual AWARD Question or whether it should be assigned to the Question above. You must select an option (in the Create Option column) for all items except the first one in each section, which will always be created as a Question.
  12. Click Next. You must enter a Weight for each Question, including any section Questions. If a Question is to be unweighted, enter 0 (zero).
  13. Click Save. You will be returned to the Evidence Items page which will now display the Question path of the mappings.

The new Questions should now be visible under the Questions lists. If your Project does not have Auto Assign Measures enabled, you will need to assign Answer Measures to each of the new Questions.
