AWARD® offers various ways to communicate and ask questions, depending on the type of project and the users involved (Project Managers, Stakeholders, Assessors, and Suppliers).
Accessing Communication Tools
You can access Issues, Authority Queries, Clarifications, Notifications, Messages, and Tasks from the Communication option on the toolbar in your project. Availability depends on the project type, whether the feature is enabled, and your user role.

All Projects
- Tasks: Used to ask questions of internal teams (e.g., subject matter experts, legal teams). Tasks can be created within Work Groups and from Issues and Clarifications. All Work Group members and project management can comment, forming a discussion thread.
- Messages: Used to send general information to selected internal Project Users. Created by Administrators, Project Managers, or Project Support. These are one-way communications and cannot be responded to. Emails are also sent to recipients.
Standard Evaluation Projects
- Issues: Created by Assessors, Stakeholders, and Project Managers. Assessors and Stakeholders can create Issues only if assigned to Questions. Primarily for Assessors to ask evaluation-related questions. Once the Project Manager responds, the Issue is closed, and no further responses can be added.
Data Room Projects
- Notifications: Two types - Notices (inform all Suppliers about updates, like portal openings) and Document Change Notifications (inform about document changes, like publishing or invalidation). Both are sent to all Suppliers and cannot be responded to.
- Clarifications: Created by Suppliers to ask questions about their responses or required information. Responded to by Project Managers. Once responded to, the Clarification is closed, but answers can be updated, and Suppliers notified of updates.
- Authority Queries: Created by Project Managers to ask Suppliers questions. Responded to by Suppliers. Once answered, the Query is marked as Answered, but Suppliers can update their answers until the Project Manager marks it Complete. Stakeholders can view but not respond to these queries.
